Handicap Plummets! (posted 20.04.06)
David Evans, who we have reported on previously, has had his handicap cut to 25, meaning he has to play off the men's medal tees in competitions. Not bad considering he is still only nine years old! David, who plays at The Bedfordshire Golf Club, will be joining other juniors aged 5-12 in the forthcoming Wee Wonders Golfing competition. For more details on Wee Wonders, click here.

Gross 88 for 11 year old (posted 20.10.05)
Andrew Petterson, who plays off a handicap of 34, recently won the Boys' Junior Open at his home club in Swansea. A fantastic round of 88 brought the eleven year old his maiden victory.
Congratulations to Andrew from everyone at Young Golfer and Swansea Golf Club. Keep up the good golf and we hope your handicap comes tumbling down in the future!

First time winner (posted 18.10.05)
Not many people boast a net 58. However, off a handicap of 44, Rob Simpson of Fulford Golf Club managed just that and became the winner of the club's junior championship. It was defintely a shock for the first time winner, who is now looking to break 100 in the next club tournament.
Congratulations Rob!

Net 65 wins trophy (posted 31.08.05)
15-year-old Ashley Simpson, a member of Fulford Golf Club, who plays off 6, recently won the Seward Trophy at Pike Hills Golf Club with a superb net 65. But it nearly all went wrong. On the last fairway, the nerves started to get the better of Ashley and he managed to shank the ball into the rough. However, with his dad caddying for him, he managed to calm down enough to chip out and still make par.
Congratulations to Ashley.

Twenty one strokes under! (posted 27.07.05)
David Evans is 8 years old and plays at The Bedfordshire Club. His handicap is 36 but that could soon come tumbling down as he just went round the 6208 yard par 70 course, off the mens tees, in just 85 shots. His round included 3 pars, and a birdie at the par 3 ninth hole - a 203 yard challenge - where young David chipped in.
Congratulations David and let us know how you get on.

Hole In One helps to raise £623 (posted 06.05.05)
On 29th May Rossendale G.C. held a 4-Man Team Junior Fundraising Competition. Danny Redding, the Junior Vice-Captain played in his father's team and scored a Hole-in-one on the 151-yard par-3 1st hole.
It was a proud but costly moment for his dad, as it resulted in a £70 bar bill in the clubhouse afterwards.
Danny's team came seventh and the fundraiser boosted the Junior Sections coffers by £623.
